A „Time Loop“ (2026) Eva-Maria Biribauer osztrák képzőművész festménysorozata, amely kifejezetten a budapesti Amrita Sher-Gil Kulturális Központ számára készült.

„Time Loop“ (2026) is a series of paintings by Austrian artist Eva-Maria Biribauer, that was made especially for the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre in Budapest.

It tells the story of time a traveller, that visits the embassy for the time of the exhibition.
After a long, intense trip, the time traveller finds rest in a lush garden and accidentially bumps into the „Mechwart Liget Bus-Stop Gang“, that consits of good spirits, that are to be found around the time-portal at the station of Mechwart liget.

Eva-Maria Biribauer in front of her paintings, summer 2026. Here you see members of the „Mechwart Liget Bus-Stop Gang“. The figures you see on the paintings are not concrete, hard to grasp, because they have to dissolve, when moving through the time portal.

A Mechwart liget egyik fontos megálló a Budai oldalon.

The Mechwart liget is an important station on the Buda side. If you want to go the Indian embassy by public transport, you have to change at this station.
Close to the station, there is also a fantastic place, where waiters dance like wolves. Reality and surreality very close to each other.
When the artist visited this place for the first time, she had the feeling, that there could be a time portal at Mechwart liget.

Kutatásba kezdett, amelynek eredménye a „Time Loop“ című sorozat – a hindu hitvilágban megjelenő multiverzum, a végtelenség és India vibráló színeinek művészi reflexiója.

Eva-Maria is fascinated by different cultures and their spiritual backgrounds, so Hindu Cosmology is a big, endless, very colorful source of inspiration for the artist.
The topic of time travelling came into her mind, when stepping into the Indian Embassy. It was just one step, but a step into another world. An immediate change of time and space.
According to the artist, we all are time travellers, constantly moving and shifting between different spaces and layers of time.
She started her research and the result is the series „Time Loop“, – a reflection of the Multiverse, the role of Infinity in Hindu belief and the vibrant colors of India.
